Partial Train Derailment In Florida Includes Propane Tanker (VIDEO)
Emergency crews responded to the scene where six Seminole Gulf Railway cars fell off the track.
On Tuesday, six cars derailed near the Sarasota-Manatee County line in Florida.
Five of the derailed cars were carrying sheet rock and one was carrying propane.
Southern Manatee Fire Rescue Chief Robert Bounds told WFLA that the tanker is not leaking and is safe.
Emergency crews will need to siphon the approximately 30,000 gallons of propane from the tanker car before the tracks can be cleared.
Here is WFLA’s report:
“We are proud of our first responders,” said Kevin Van Ostenbridge, Manatee County Board of County Commissioners Chair. “Their quick action has helped maintain the safety and security of our citizens.”
