Gavin Seethes, Mulls ‘Kidnapping Charges’ Against DeSantis After California Receives 2nd Plane

As I have written elsewhere, there is a stark difference between California’s attitude toward illegal immigration and Florida’s. Those attitudes drive policy and those policies impact human behavior.

It all comes down to incentives.

Californians offer a warm welcome to people who enter the country through the metaphorical window instead of the door (as a burglar would). They are not treated as unlawful intruders. They are welcomed as guests, and offered hospitality. Including health care.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Floridians have been very welcoming of people coming to their state. So long as they enter through the door. Anyone slipping in through the window should not expect any such hospitality. Large and medium sized companies will face steep penalties for employing anyone who does not use E-Verify.

The Governor of a supposed ‘sanctuary state’ got his knickers in a twist over — count them — thirty-six (36!) illegal immigrants.

Clearly, Governor DeSantis is still in Gavin’s head.

The threat came after a first private jet arrived Saturday in Sacramento from New Mexico with 16 illegal migrants from Venezuela and Colombia onboard. A second flight arrived midday Monday, reportedly carrying 20 more migrants. It is not confirmed whether DeSantis is behind the flights, but the migrants reportedly were carrying Florida state government paperwork.
Newsom posted the text of a California law that details the potential charge Newsom could leverage. “Every person, who being out of this state, abducts or takes by force or fraud any person contrary to the law of the place where that act is committed, and brings, sends, or conveys that person within the limits of this state … is guilty of kidnapping,” the law reads.
The migrants came from Texas near El Paso and were first sent to New Mexico before flying to California.

Even if they are from California, this situation comes down to carrots and sticks. Biden offered a carrot (open borders) and people came. DeSantis offered a stick (obstacles to employment if you are here illegally, via E-verify). Gavin has been offering boatloads of free stuff to all comers, including illegals. (Another carrot)

DeSantis doesn’t need to ‘kidnap’ anyone for them to go there. Gavin did that all on his own with incentive structure.

The fact that Florida isn’t playing along might give Gavin a case of the sads. But if Gavin decides he wants to slow the flow impoverished illegals into his state, he will first have to change the current incentive structure that is driving it.

You gavin, are in fact breaking these laws to suit your personal communist, totalitarian end goals and should therefore be punished to the full extent of the law.
