The United Nations Took A Vote… Now One Senator Wants Its Funding Revoked

Is Senator Lee right, or is he out to lunch?

The entire point of the United Nations — and the League of Nations before it — was to be a voice of reason to reign in small nations committing atrocities before they escalate to full-blown war.

So what happens when the United Nations refuses to denounce atrocities whose commission has been obvious to the entire world?

Does the United Nations still serve any sort of a useful purpose? Or should we knock down those towers in New York and put up some primo housing in that same spot?

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

This is, after all, the same United Nations who hosted an official from Iran as he all but declared war on America while standing on US soil.

What is it good for? Senator Mike Lee has a pretty good idea of what it’s good for.

Ok he sounds upset.

No, wait. Upset isn’t quite the word.

I think the word I’m looking for is ‘resolute’.

Do you agree with Lee?

  1. In earlier years, The USSR wanted to have three formally recognized blocks in the U.N.: the Capitalist block, the Socialist block, and the 3rd World block. This failed. But the stresses and strains on the U.N. continue as a reflection of the stresses and strains in contemporary society. If we were to do away with the U.N., we would have to set about setting up another similar organization at once. This is what happened after the failure of the League of Nations.

  2. Most of the United Nations organizations are headed up by a Muslim from the Muslim countries. This is an organization dedicated to peace but it is now run by the “religion of Peace”!?!?!? We need to stop giving them money and run them out of New York.

    1. BM – yep – I’ve been saying something similar for years. Repurpose that building for real humanitarian purposes. If the useless natterers ‘need’ a new home then use a decommissioned aircraft carrier for them. Anchor it outside the 12 mile limit (international waters) and let them maintain it. The delegates can fly back and forth via helicopter.
