The judiciary committee’s field hearings in New York have given ordinary New Yorkers an opportunity to tell their politicians how they feel about the recent political shift in how criminal offenders are treated in that city.
As it happens, a lot of them really aren’t happy with it… and finally have a way to voice their concerns.
One man testified about how his son was hospitalized nearly two years ago after being attacked by six people in New York in broad daylight. The offenders are known — it was all caught on camera.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
He was beaten with crutches. He needed surgery. And in the father’s words, the six people who attacked his son are going about their lives without a care in the world. One was even cheered for his light sentence, after which he said he would do it again.
A cynic might suggest Bragg is more interested in private political ambitions and book deals he can leverage out of a ‘get Trump’ agenda than he is in actually fulfilling his role as a public servant sworn to keep the peace.
